The main suspect of Mary Wambui’s murder,Judy Wangui, told the court that police inserted pepper in her private parts. Through her lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Wangui claimed that two female police officers from Juja Police Station assaulted her on Friday night. The assault left her with injuries on her thighs and upper part of her body.
She told Senior Principal Magistrate, Stella Atambo that the assault was not addressed even after she reported it to the OCS. During the proceedings, she appealed to the Magistrate to have her released on bond following the alleged assault.The State objected to the application terming it as unconstitutional and unreasonable.
Together with her lover Kori and driver Githae, they were expected to take a plea at the Kiambu Law Courts but the homicide detective who took over the case asked the court to give him more time to conclusively finalize the case before charging the three suspects.
Mary Kamangara is said to have been killed by Judy Wangui who hit her on the forehead with a pressure cooker. This is in line with post mortem findings, that Ms. Kamangara was hit with a blunt object nine times before being suffocated. She died of brain concussion, the report concluded, with the skull having been crushed by between two and seven centimeters.
Judy’s house help also confessed that she was forced to clean up blood left behind after Wambui was murdered.
