Brazilian superstar, Neymar will miss 12 games while out on an injury. The sensational PSG winger picked a metatarsal injury during their French Cup match with Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes stadium.
There was a widespread concern that Neymar could potentially miss the remainder of the season if he had to undergo surgery, but the club has opted for a “conservative treatment” for his injury.
“After the exchanges between the group of specialists, a consensus was reached to propose to Neymar Jr conservative treatment for his injury of the fifth right metatarsal. Informed of this recommendation, the Brazilian international striker of Paris Saint-Germain was in total agreement with this protocol,” read a communication from the club.
Neymar picked same injury last year
This is the same injury that the Brazilian superstar picked right before World Cup last year. Neymar had cracked his fifth metatarsal in the right foot and hurt his ankle during a 3-0 win over Marseille last year.
He, however sought treatment from his home country, Brazil.
“In accordance with the player, it has been decided that Neymar will undergo surgery in Brazil. He will be operated on by Dr Rodrigo Lasmar, accompanied by Professor Saillant, representing PSG,” read the PSG statement last year.
