Parliament resumes, Boinet Replacement among top agenda

Joseph Boinet, Kenya’s Inspector General of Police term is coming to an end this March. For the National Assembly of Kenya, this means that they will be looking for a replacement for him as house resumes today  the 12th of February.

Nominees to be considered for this position should serve as members of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC). Once the body is reconstituted, it will call for its members to apply for the position of Inspector General of Police.

The commission will then submit the name of its preferred candidate to president Uhuru Kenyatta who will then send it back to the parliament for consideration. According to the leader of majority of the National Assembly Aden Duale, finding a suitable successor for Boinet is among a long list of items that the House will give priority to.
