One Surgeon is in trouble after claims that one June Wanza, 35, lost her life at a Nairobi hospital on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Wanza died two days after she underwent a breast enlargement and firming procedure. According to investigators Wanza, succumbed to an infection that was triggered after her gut was punctured during surgery.
Martin Ajujo, the surgeon who operated on her has been put on spot for practicing without authority from licensing authorities.
Investigators also found that Ajujo was still a trainee but commenced the delicate surgery before his supervisor Stanley Ominde Khainga arrived. They both practice at Surgeoderm Health Care Limited.
Wanza developed complications after surgery and was moved to Nairobi Hospital where she was admitted in the ICU.
The two medics defended themselves stating that Wanza died as a result of neck injuries she sustained as doctors tried to resuscitate her.
