The ODM Director of communications Philip Etale has revealed the reason behind the the disastrous and embarrassing performance by AFC Leopards.
AFC Leopards’ standing as one of the most successful clubs in the Western region is underlined by the fact that it has won the Kenyan Premier League 12 times.AFC Leopards has also won the Kenya Cup 8 times, and the CECAFA Club Championship 5 times.
However, the team has not been able to maintain the history following the poor results it has been recording in the recent past.
Yesterday in the famous mashemeji derby, Ingwe was skinned alive by the rivals Gor Mahia in a 2-0 win at Kasarani Stadium.
New AFC Leopards coach Mbungo suffered a second consecutive defeat.
Cassa Mbungo had suffered a 2-1 loss in his first match against Mt Kenya in a midweek clash. Despite the loss, Mbungo remained optimistic saying that he believed in the quality of players and that he expects positive results in upcoming matches.
However, Etale believes that local tribal politics of the Luhya community is the cause of the disastrous and embarrassing performance by the team. The ODM Party Director of Communications cites that Ingwe boys lack inspiration. He says one inspires them.
