Gor Mahia fans have taken over the city of Nairobi ahead of this afternoon’s Mashemeji derby at Kasarani Stadium. Gor welcome arch rivals AFC Leopards in the first leg of the most anticipated duels on the Kenyan footballing calendar.
And it already seems that the derby will be a one sided affair. Early observations indicate that Ingwe fans may not turn up at Kasarani Stadium. And you can’t blame them owing to the fact that their team has been performing poorly this season.
Ingwe have won only two games this season and have lost their past three matches. They currently sit 15th on the log, one point above the relegation zone. Everyone including their own fans expects them to be thrashed.
K’ogallo fans have turned out in large number clad in their iconic green colors.
Meanwhile Denis Oliech has been left out of the squad to face Ingwe in the derby. The inform striker is believed to have been injured in training on Friday afternoon.
Coach Hassan Oktay has named speedy forward Nicholas Kipkirui alongside Rwandese import Jacques Tuyisenge to lead his attack.
