Despite all his achievements in the last decade, Dennis Oliech has never graced Kenya’s biggest derby.

Today he has the chance to do that as his Gor Mahia side face a limping AFC Leopards side in this SportPesa Premier League (SPL) match at Kasarani and he is looking forward to it.

“Every big player wants to feature in a derby and I am no exception. A derby is the ultimate test for any player and I not only want to play but to score as well,” he said.

Oliech has however warned against underrating AFC Leopards on account of their poor form pointing out that playing in the derby may just be the motivation they need to hit back.

“Form does not count much in the derby and we expect Leopards to come out in search of three points. We will not underrate them.”

Oliech has also urged fans not to be violent irrespective of the result and wants everyone to accept the results.

“It is shameful to have fans fighting every time we have a derby. It should not happen this time. Whatever the outcome we must accept and people should just go home in peace after the match.

“Hooliganism scares away sponsors and fans from coming to the pitch and we don’t need that.”
