Talk of Gor Mahia Fans and what immediately comes into the minds of many people is a picture of vocal, rowdy and very energetic set of individuals.

Gor Mahia fans, just like other football fans all around the world have got their traditions that they follow to the latter.

Apart from Song and Dance, the fans have time and again paid homage to Tom Mboya, one of Kenya’s fathers of Democracy and a brilliant mind that never lived to lead this country.

Gor Mahia fans have made it their duty to clean up Tom Mboya’s statue anytime there is a Mashemeji Derby like today.

Today, a section of fans made it to the statue and began cleaning it as a sign of respect to their Fallen Hero.

The fans also believe that giving Tom Mboya a clean bath will increase their chances of winning against AFC Leopards.

Gor Mahia fans have also made it a routine that Anytime the club wins a match, they have to pass around that area and pay homage to their hero.

It will be remembered that sometime back in 2012, Nairobians were treated to a rare but shocking drama when a section of Gor fans upon leaving the stadium, after a 3-1 victory against KCB, headed to the statue, stripped half naked and started bathing from the fountain at the statue.
