A team of the UK based British Broadcasting corporation (BBC) journalists were on Wednesday arrested as they were investigating Ugandan government’s illegal sales.
While Reuters reported that Uganda government spokesman, Ofwono Opondo demanded their release, this is yet to materialized.
The BBC said in a statement it had been in contact with the relevant authorities and is working to resolve the situation.
“I am yet to find out the logic why police arrested these journalists, who in my view were helping government to unearth the rot which is in the system,” said Mr Opondo.
