Why live a broke life while you can sell some of your body parts and live a lavish life? Ian-Harriel Kowiti a former aspirant for Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Uriri Constituency in Migori County seat has put up one of his testicles for sale for Sh500,000. He says he is tired of living in poverty.
During an interview he has explained; “What is the need of having two of them (testicles) dangling between my legs if I can still do the job perfectly with just one? Imagine that there is someone out there who can’t have a child for one reason or another. I just want to share what I have, for a little profit of course! I’m tired of being broke, yet I don’t need two testicles!”
He also claims to have consulted a doctor, ”A doctor friend confirmed to me that you can lead a healthy and fulfilling life with just one kidney. It pains me that there is someone out there who is suffering because of kidney failure and has to spend so much money on dialysis. I have two functioning kidneys, and I consider it the right thing to do to give out one.”
Urologist, Dr David Kimani has dismissed the possibilities of transplanting testicles,”It is impossible. I am only aware of penile transplant, but I have never heard of a procedure to transplant testicles.
Another doctor, Dr Huldah Adhanja, says the fact that some people can be born with one testicle does not mean that those who have two can sell one and operate with the remaining one. She said there is no local expertise or facilities for testicular transplant, and even if there were, patients would suffer from stigma due to cultural beliefs, ”Which man would accept to use another man’s testicles even if transplant was possible? This is madness!”
Theoretically testicle transplant from another donor is possible but it still hasn’t been tried on humans because it wouldn’t make any sense to do it. A transplantation of testis from a different donor has many technical issues. If you want someone else’s testis to produce sperms in your body, why not take his sperms for fertilization instead as a donor.
