Despite ongoing trials at home threatening to weigh him down,its been reported that the Deputy President William Ruto has arrived in London for a two-day official visit.

He is expected to meet British Government officials and address several public meetings.

“In London, United Kingdom to advance bilateral trade and investment, education, tourism; cement existing cooperation frameworks and explore new opportunities ahead of Brexit,” he said on Twitter.

Kenyan Ambassador to the U.K. Manoah Esipisu was among those who received the DP on Thursday.

However the planned meeting between Deputy President William Ruto and Kenyans living in the United Kingdom was on Wednesday evening cancelled, just two days before its scheduled time.

The Kenya High Commission had organized a cocktail where the DP would interact with Kenyans in the diaspora on Friday for one and a half hours – starting from 6.30 pm.

The planner had indicated that the event would be open to only six hundred people and tickets would be given to those who would register on a first-come-first served basis.

This is the president’s first visit outside the country this year
