It’s not been a great start to his Manchester United career but Brazilian midfielder Fred is supposedly ‘happy’ despite not being a key player.

Manchester United reportedly fought hard to sign the player in the summer with rivals Manchester City circling.

The Brazilian had impressed immensely at Shakhtar Donetsk and that convinced United to shell out an awful lot of money to sign him.

While injury problems have contributed to his poor form and lack of appearances, he is now fully fit and cannot get into Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s plans.

Solskjær has had several chances to bring the Brazilian into the team but has chosen other options.

That has lead to him only amassing 126 minutes of football under Manchester United’s new boss.

Though, despite all that, a report today has suggested that there ‘is no reason to panic’ and that the player is ‘happy’ at the moment

That is according to Paul Hirst in the Times, who has been speaking about Fred’s situation.

His report reads:

Those close to Fred insist there is no reason to panic. He is happy for now at United and is enjoying life in the northwest having last month become a father for the first time after his fiancée Monique Salum gave birth to a boy, Benjamin.

Hirst goes on to end the piece by claiming that should Ander Herrera sign a new deal at the club, there could be no pathway to the first team for Fred.

Should that remain that way, he could soon be on his way out of the club.
