These are the TV shows we can’t wait to see in 2019

It is a new year. To TV fanatics, this just means there is a lot of new TV shows to watch while procrastinating and ignoring the outside world.

2018 brought us a bevy of new shows including Charmed, Shera, Castle Rock, Condor, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and fan favorite Legacies. These shows were so good, it might prove challenging for 2019 to top them.

And yet the Pretty Little Liars spin-off The Perfectionist and some Netflix originals debuting this year, it looks like there is no need to worry.

These are the TV shows that every drama lover is waiting to watch:

1.Looking for Alaska.

This year, Hulu will try to bring the novel ‘Looking for Alaska’ by John Green to life. This action thriller will be an eight-episode mini-series starring Charlie Plummer as Miles Halter.

It is still unclear as to whether or not the mini-series will stick strictly to the plot of the book but the show is a must-watch for both novel fans and those who haven’t read the book.

SynopsisLooking for Alaska is told through the eyes of teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Plummer), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life. He falls in love with a girl, Alaska Young (Froseth), and after her unexpected death, he and his close friends attempt to uncover the truth behind her death and make sense of it.

2. The Umbrella Academy.

This live action TV show will be an adaption of the graphic novel series by Gerard Way under the same name-The Umbrella Academy. The show will premiere on February 15, in Netflix.

The cast includes Cameron Britton, Aidan Gallagher, Tom Hopper, Ellen Page and many more.

Synopsis: The series follows a group of misfits who come together to solve their murder of their adoptive father and prevent the world from an impeding doom.

3. Euphoria

The network cable that brought us Game of Thrones, Fargo, The Wire, Ballers and many more is jumping into the youth adult drama. The Executive Producer of the show is none other than Drake.

Synopsis: The show is about a group of students who get to experience and deal with friendships and love in the world of social media.

The star-studded cast include Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney, Storm Reid, Alexa Demi and Hunter Schafer.

4. The Perfectionist.

Freeform announced this show as a spin-off of the youth favorite drama, Pretty Little Liars, which ended in 2017.

Created by I, (If you know,you know), the show marks the return of Mona Vanderwaal and Alison DiLaurentis played by Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse respectively.

It is set in the PLL style and will feature a murder mystery and introduce the new characters.
