Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has replied to the letter from ODM party terming him as a stranger in the affairs of the party.
In the letter, Murkomen terms the response from the ODM party secretary general as condescending and that it denies the two MPs Aishwa Jumwa and Suleiman Dori the right to appeal their ouster under the party Constitution and the Kenyan constitution.
The Jubilee senator also refuted the claims that he was a stranger. He quoted that the party Constitution which according to him provides that if any member was aggrieved he or she had a right to appeal by either representing themselves, through an authorized representative or through Next friend and therefore Sifuna could not refer to him as a stranger yet he had been authorized by the two legislators to take up the matter.
He referred the ODM party to the second schedule of the political parties act and articles 47 and 50 of the constitution.
Kenyans had earlier bashed his potential as a lawyer to represent Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori in a petition seeking to appeal the party’s decision to expel them.To which has defended himself too.
Murkomen: I don’t know how the two legislators Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori settled on me as their lawyer. But I’m sure they looked at my credentials and felt that they needed an advocate of my stature… #TheBigStory pic.twitter.com/cF5shLu9zz
