What is the most important thing to young people these days?
Getting a job?
Getting good grades?
Of course getting a job and good grades are important. Grades do matter.
But if we look at it in a different perspective, the most important thing to us, youths, would be opportunities. Opportunity to get what we want.
The God of Opportunity
So, what is opportunity? Opportunity is the right moment or occasion to do something. Simply put, opportunity is the time we’ve all been waiting for. But when the time finally comes, why do most of us hesitate?
Is it because we are afraid of failures?
Or is it because we fear to be turned down?
Or are we afraid that we will make things worse?
Giving up, we convince ourselves that ‘a better opportunity is coming.’ Unfortunately for us, the lost opportunities will linger in our memory and haunt us.
Another term for opportunity is timing: Something that can’t be held once it passes. Timing something that gets harder even if you try to control it, so don’t wait idly and take action when you think it is the right time.
Maybe those opportunities that we were so desperate to grab may actually be in front of us at this very moment. Don’t hesitate.
