Top Lawyer tables facts about delayed Justice in Kenya after visiting several Courts

One of Kenya’s top lawyers Nelson Havi early today committed himself towards knowing the reason behind delayed justice in Kenya.

The Lawyer on Tuesday morning visited several Criminal Courts in Milimani to check who amongst Magistrates, Prosecutors and Defense Counsel is responsible for adjournments and delays in the conclusion of criminal cases.

After visiting five Courts in Milimani, Nairobi, Havi came up with his findings which he communicated through his official twitter account.

He has come up with statistics that show 60% of adjournments were sought by DPP; 20% by defense Counsel; and 20% as a result of time constraints on the part of the Court.

“I have this morning visited five Courts in Milimani. Magistrates have completed their call over. Statistics are as follows: 60% of adjournments were sought by DPP; 20% by defense Counsel; and 20% as a result of time constraints on the part of the Court,” his post read.
