Governor Sonko cracks the whip on water cartels

The Nairobi City Water and Sewarage Company is today conducting a major operation to disconnect all illegal water connections.

The operation is aimed at fixing water problems in some city estates which has been largely caused by illegal connections.

Sonko’s team together with the NCWSC is currently in Westlands where several water cartels have been busted.

According to reports, illegal connections contribute a lot to scarcity of water in some Nairobi estates.

This move will go a long way  into helping Nairobi residents have access to water  and reduce the burden of huge bills people have for surviving on buying water.

Nairobi residents have been complaining for the longest time with cases where some regions hardly access water.

Apart from dealing with water cartels, Governor Sonko today also disciplined land grabbers from different parts of the city as he said that his administration will not tolerate such.

The Governor also sent a warning to people who have appetite of encroaching land saying that any who has taken part in such acts should surrender and allow access of the roads to the public.

The Governor made it clear that his administration will not tolerate impunity and corruption in Nairobi City County.
