Police launch manhunt for suspects after 6180 rolls of bhang are nabbed in Makueni

From politicians, artistes, businessmen and corporates, many personalities in Kenya are said to be secretly abusing bhang, which is readily available on the streets and in clubs through secret cartels.

Recall the big blow when Nairobi governor Mike Sonko spilled at the Jeff Koinange Live show that he used to smoke bhang with Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu in parliament premises?Well days later lots bhang have been nabbed in his local roots Ukambani.

Police in Emali, Makueni County have netted 6180 rolls of bhang with a street value of over Sh3 million while on transit from Nairobi to Mombasa.

The consignment was bundled in a Toyota Saloon car that had been designed to carry a large capacity of the narcotic drug.

Makueni Administration Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeiyan said the bhang was confiscated past Emali town after the occupants of vehicle refused to stop when they were flagged down by police patrolling the highway.

“Emali police were carrying out daily patrols along the busy highway when they noticed a suspecting vehicle. They stopped it but the driver sped off approaching Mombasa direction, something that prompted police to chase them,” said Naipeiyan.

He disclosed that after a 5-kilometer chase, the occupants of the car abandoned it besides the highway and fled.Police have since launched a manhunt for the three escaping suspects.
