Tension as 152 counterfeit bombs are unearthed in Nanyuki

Police on Saturday morning found 152 dummy bombs at a hardware shop in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.

It is unclear what the dummies were for but the owner of the shop says he had bought them as scrap metal.

Police have sealed off the site and investigations are underway. Bomb disposal squad is also at the scene.

This report come even after the Director of Criminal Investigation launched a nation wide crack down to arrest all malicious activities related to terrorism.

The decision was arrived after the Dusit Hotel terror attack which claimed 21 lives. The police and investigators have since been carrying out undercover investigation.

The investigations have since led to arrest of many people linked to this deadly group Al Shabaab.
