Why Sexual Immorality in the Gospel Industry is as Old as the Gospel Itself

As the show unravels of the sex scandal involving Gospel artists Hopekid and DK Kwenye Beat, sexual sin traces way back past the genesis of the Gospel.

But, just as immiscibility of water and oil, sexual promiscuity is among the most condemned sins.

The vice, however, dates way back to time immemorial.

Abraham, the father of faith, couldn’t wait for God’s promise on giving him a son through his wife and therefore decided to ‘eat the fruit’ of his worker. The result was Ishmael.

When the Angels of the Lord visited Abraham in Lot’s home, sexually perverse men demanded to sleep with visitors, the results were fire!

Enter King David’s time, the leader of the Israelites coveted one of his soldier’s wife and had him killed in battle after sleeping with his woman.

Exit King David, enter his son King Solomon. The legend had a record of 700 wives and 300 concubines, totaling to 1001 sex partners.

From different historical records, Solomon left Israel to Africa by the lure of sex with the Queen of Sheba.

In the times of the Gospel, Jesus heavily condemned the sin.

Despite preaching to the church of Corinth severally, Paul condemned the vice even afterward as it seemed to have trapped the Corinthians.

Jesus forgave the adulterous woman brought to her by the Pharisees and the scribes for judgment.

In today’s Gospel world, sexual immorality still loams. It comes known when things leak and spreads fast when a known figure is involved.

In the UK and Kenya, there are several cases of clergy caught in sodomy and adultery.

In 2016, a Whatsapp chat leaked of one ‘Brother Allan’ who belonged to a Gospel fellowship group in Embakasi.

‘Brother Allan’ was luring a woman into sex using erotic language.

And now, is the latest story involving gospel artists Hopekid and DK.

Sex immorality may not end soon, and when Christ returns, some people might be found busy committing it.
