How a school in Bondo made a teacher commit suicide

People do get frustrations from their work places, but how are you supposed to deal with this? Is suicide a solution? Well, grief has engulfed a trading centre in Bondo sub-county after a primary school teacher committed suicide allegedly over frustrations at work.

Elkana Omondi, a teacher at Migiro primary school, hanged himself on Wednesday evening in his house in Nango trading centre.

The father of 10 was alone in the house when he committed the act. Nyan’goma Assistant Commissioner Samson Akatch said his wife had gone to the market.

A witness said Omondi was found dangling from the ceiling of his house before his wife screamed, prompting neighbours to rush to their house.

According to The Standard, Omondi left two notes indicating he was going through frustration following an alleged disappearance of two laptops in school.

“According to a note that was found next to his body, he indicated that there is nowhere he was going to get the laptops which he had not stolen,” said the administrator.

On another suicide note, the deceased mentioned two teachers whom he accused of being behind his tribulations at the school and warned that they will live to regret.“It was a case of suicide. He seemed to have several issues and I think he was depressed,” said Akatch.

The body was taken to Bondo Hospital mortuary.
