Will Manchester United hand Spaniard a new contract?

With his deal set to expire at the end of the season, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera was asked about developments in his contract talks with the club.

Herrera joined Manchester United in the summer of 2014 from Spanish outfit Athletic Bilbao for a fee believed to be in the region of £32 million.

The Spaniard has been a key player at Manchester United especially in big games where his defensive prowess has been used to nullify the attacking threats of star players.

When asked about the developments in his contract talks with Manchester United, Herrera gave very little away, “I’m not going to talk about my contract. We have more important things happening now than my contract so I just try to perform. My priority is to beat Burnley, Leicester… and if I deserve a new contract, the contract will come. I’m not a selfish guy, I want the team to keep winning games, I don’t go crazy about my contract.”
