Ruto opens up “Government servers” to the Public

The Deputy President today held an open forum meeting with the general public in the new efforts of reaching the openess between the people and the government.

Joined by other leaders , innovators ,enterpreneurs and different stakeholders representing the general public, DP Ruto insisted the need of a united government working front.

DP Ruto has talked about the ideal election with its importance in pushing a democracy in the nation.

“Our fidelity to the democratic ideals is not measured by the regular conduct of elections but by the nature of governance that happens in between ballot cycles.”

The Deputy President also affirmed that when the government involves its citizens in running of programmes it acquires stability and serves the people in their best interest.

“When a government involves citizens, civil society in the audit of its practices and programmes; the society is more stable, the country more organised and the people happy because they know their nation is run in their best interests.”

DP has also insisted that openness allows the public to hold the government accountable in implementation and execution of government projects.

“Openness is necessary for inclusivity, informed participation, effective democracy and the holding of government to account.”

“We embrace the philosophy of Open Government Partnership because we see great value in it; we do so to eradicate corruption, enhance transparency, elevate public trust in government and public institutions and intensify civic engagement.”

“We need to prepare ourselves to make sure that the disruption brought by Globalisation and the Industrial Revolution produces a substantial enhancement in the quality of governance experienced by people everywhere.”

Ruto has also said that open government is essential in convergence of effective public  administration, civic engagement and technological innovation. Our experience has been positive, eye-opening and deeply beneficial.

He has also said that open Government is working in five main ways: enhancing innovation; facilitating access to government information and strengthening oversight; making available tools to bolster anti-corruption efforts; promoting business start-ups and advancing partnerships.
