Raila Odinga and President Magufuli Compare Notes After Surviving Health Scare

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga seem to be doing just fine after his health scare yesterday at Tanzania’s National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The AU High envoy for Infrastructure and Development has this morning paid a Courtesy call to Tanzania’s President John Pombe Magufuli.

President Magufuli and the Odinga families are close friends, a relationship that started as early as 2007 when then-Tanzanian Public Works Minister endorsed Mr Odinga for the presidency.

Mr. Odinga has revealed that during his visit to Magufuli today, they compared notes on regional issues.

“I paid a courtesy call on my friend President @MagufuliJP this morning. We compared notes on regional issues,” tweeted Raila Odinga.

Yesterday, Raila caused a scare  in Dar es Salaam after images and a video emerged of him being held by security officers.

Following concern by the public, Mr Odinga issued a statement that all but confirmed that he was well.

“Dear Kenyans and friends from around the globe, I am well and in Good health. Thank you for your concern,” said Raila.

The ODM leader landed in that city on Sunday morning ahead of the third edition of the SportPesa Cup final between Kenyan sides Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari at the National Stadium.

Mr Odinga was one of the dignitaries who watched the match alongside Sports Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia and SportPesa Chief Executive Officer Ronald Karauri.

His Visit to Magufuli today has all but confirmed that the Opposition Supremo is in deed fine and still strong despite fear and concerns among his many supporters who even called on him to delegate duties or take a rest altogether.
