Some battles are very sensitive that a strategic approach may be great way of manouvering through them but if jeopardised, a huge loss could be counted.

Airing opinion over Kenya’s security, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi said regional police commanders should sit down with officers below them and listen to them in order to achieve effective police service.

“We can only eradicate highly sophisticated criminals when officers work together,” he said.

The CS was addressing regional commanders at the Loresho Police training school on Monday.

“We cannot entirely rely on arms to maintain law and order. We can only succeed if we work with communities. As regional police commanders, you must manage your people well. Don’t boss them around,” he said.

There have been cases where officers kill themselves out of frustrations.

Meanwhile, soon after the Latema explosion that threatened to shake Kenya again in terror war, a  metal box caused quite a stir in Nairobi CBD after it was found abandoned at Odeon Cinema on Monday, January 28.

A video from the area has shown  that the area had been cordoned off. DCI officers later collected the unattended metallic box and normalcy was restored.

The box is said to have been left at the scene since Saturday night when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at the bus terminus injuring two people.

Do you trust that under Matiang’i our internal security will take control of wars such as terrorism?
