Governor Joho preaches National Unity in Vihiga County

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho yesterday preached the message of National Unity and urged Kenyans to to work in unison to promote peace and unity.

The Governor was hosted by the area MP Hon. Chris Omulele and Vihiga County leadership led by Gov. H.E Wilber Ottichilo and was received with a overwhelming crowd in  Luanda, Vihiga County.

Accompanied by leaders from the Coastal region and other parts of the country, the politicians empowered the Boda Boda operators of Luanda and made their dream come true of purchasing a bus to enhance their income.

During the fundraiser, they reminded the people of Luanda and the country at large of the importance of national unity through the Building Bridges Initiative.

They  also reiterated the need to hold a referendum to strengthen devolution, ensure total independence of the judiciary and strengthen constitutional commissions.

According to Joho, the referendum will not be about seeking political mileage of an individual as critics put it but to better the collective future of the people of Kenya.

During his visit to the western region, he also visited St. Clare Butula Girls Secondary School in Busia County where they helped to raise funds to construct more classrooms.

Joho says that he appreciated the  reception from the Busia Woman Representative Hon. Florence Mutua, the entire county leadership and local community.

In this occasion, their agenda was to support all initiatives by H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Raila Odinga to foster inclusivity and build bridges in this great nation.

Joho together with his team also visited affected families who lost property after tribal clashes erupted among two communities in Marachi East, Busia County.

He urged Kenyans to embrace one another as we strive to build a cohesive nation.
