Muziki hitmaker Darassa refutes drug addiction claims

In 2017, Tanzanian rapper Darasa was the to go to musician who rocked the airwaves with countless hits including Muziki and Too Much.

However, the rapper went silent all off a sudden, a move that left thousands of his East African fans at crossroads.

Following his hiatus from music as 2018 started, several quotas started peddling claims that the rapper could no longer do music because he was so hooked into hard drugs.

According to unconfirmed reports, Darasa was addicted to the drugs and that is why he could not record new music or come out in the public. Well, the rapper recently came out to set the record straight and clear his name from claims he had stopped music because of drug addiction.

During  an interview on Clouds FM as he launched his new song, Darasa said he had taken a short hiatus from music to bond with his daughter.

”It is true that I went MIA, but it is because I got a daughter and I used most of my time to bond with him. I was always indoors. And yes I heard about the stories about me being hooked to drugs when carrying my daughter. It got to a point people used to come home to confirm if indeed I was a drug addict. I used to welcome and ask them what they saw after seeing me.” Darasa said.

The rapper went ahead to claim the rumours about him being an addict do not worry him and will work hard to reclaim his top position.

”They can not intimidate me, I wont say the rumours are the ones that scared me or made me go silent. I can not lose sleep because of lies because Darasa is Darasa and is back.” he added.

He also hinted his come back to the music industry
