According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are amongst the sides looking to throw a spanner in the works and sign Luca Murphy, despite Fulham agreeing terms over a deal for the teenager.
Murphy is attracting a lot of Premier League attention after impressing in Hartlepool United’s youth ranks. TEAMtalk reports that Wolves and West Ham have shown recent interest, and the Cottagers appear to be closing in on a deal after agreeing terms over a move for the 17-year-old.
However, it appears that there could be a late twist in the tale.
Fulham have produced some incredibly exciting youngsters in recent years, so it is not difficult to see why Murphy may find a switch to Craven Cottage appealing. They would surely also be able to offer the quickest route into the first-team.
But Tottenham must be the kind of team that could tempt Murphy to change his mind if he previously had his heart set on Fulham. Mauricio Pochettino has shown so much faith in some of the youngsters available to him, so Fulham may not feel able to relax until a deal is completely finalised.
