Man caught sneaking bhang into a public hospital

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been on the lime light for all wrong reasons just the other day a man  was nabbed on Monday at KNH’s Accident and Emergency entrance with 24 rolls of bhang valued at Ksh 1,200.

Samson Arubwere, 35,a was  arraigned in Court after he was apprehended by the authorities sneaking bhang into the facility

A security guard doing a routine security check came across the consignment and alerted police officers who arrested the man.

Arubwere was then taken to KNH Police Post before being transferred to Capitol Hill Police Station in Kilimani.

He was arraigned before Kibera chief magistrate Joyce Gabandi although he did not take a plea.

Elsewhere, a suspect told Milimani Court on Wednesday that smoking bhang had made him confess to being an Al-Shabaab member.

Kelvin Kitili aka Omar Ali Ibrahim had reported to the police earlier in the month that he was planning to launch a major attack in Nairobi alongside some colleagues.

He, however later claimed that he only gave the false information under the strong influence of bhang after consuming considerable amounts of the drug.

Kelvin pleaded guilty to the charge of giving false information to persons in public service.

The case against him took a different twist after he was charged with travelling to Somalia a state associated with training of radicalized youths from Kenya to become terrorists.

It was indicated that his engagements for the travel did not follow the proper channels involved for one to move out of the country.
