Change is inevitable but leadership change is always a sign of either poor or great performance.Inarguably, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has not only impressed the public but also the president. This has seen him rise to powerful posts in a span of time.

Newly, in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration reorganisation and establishment of four-tier executive authority, Matiang’i is the new head of national develpment of the country.

Matiang’i will take charge of the implementation and monitoring of all development projects initiated and funded by the national government through a new Cabinet sub-committee.

The sub-committee will be known as the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee. It brings on board all CSs, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

Under the new directive, the conceptualisation, monitoring, implementation and evaluation will be done right from the grassroots.

Since DP Ruto for a long time now has been leading in making development trips to many counties including unexpected partnership with Governor Obado immediately he was freed, the nation has detected that Uhuru’s move sort of has cut short Ruto’s tangatanga mission thus belitling the Deputy president.
