He further urged citizen participation in security issues through interventions such as the Nyumba Kumi, Peace Elders, Community Policing and Village Elders among others.

Dr Matiang’i appreciated the officers for a well-coordinated operation at the Dusit Complex where Al Shabaab terrorists took 21 lives.

Dr, Matiang’i order came  a week after the Al Shabaab attack at the Dusit D2 hotel where 21 innocent lives were taken away by Al Shabaab terrorists  and several others injured.

This also was triggered by former Steve Mbogo who pulled a stunt at the Dusit with a gun claiming that he was at the scene to help rescue the victims adding that he was a victim of the Westgate attack hence his actions.

The Association of Gun owners later claimed that the slay politician was indeed not their registered member.Mbogo had earlier been summoned at the DCI Headquarters to give more clarity on his gun.
