Higuain has been tipped to join Premier League side Chelsea in the ongoing transfer window and Gattuso has somewhat confirmed that the Argentine will make the much-anticipated move sooner rather than later.
“I accept his decision. Surely he could have done more and maybe we could have helped him fit in better. I want to be honest with you all. We had a poor training session today due to all these rumors. We spoke after the training session and I did not consider him ready for this game.” the San Siro boss told Sky Italia.
Gattuso further confirmed that he will not include the 31-year old striker in his squad that will play Genoa on Monday. Higuain’s imminent entrance at Stamford Bridge will hasten Alvaro Morata’s exit to Atletico Madrid. Morata himself was not included in the 18-man squad that fell to Arsenal on Saturday, another big indication that he is leaving for Madrid.
