President Kenyatta and Opposition party leader, Raila Odinga have today congratulated President elect Mr Felix Tshisekedi after his victory following the Congo elections.
Raila says that the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo spoke in the December 2018 elections and their choices were affirmed by the relevant institutions namely the Electoral Commission and the Supreme Court.
Odinga congratulated President elect Mr Felix Tshisekedi on his vicory and wished him all the best as he embarks on the difficult task of putting the DRC on the path of democracy, unity and prosperity.
He also congratulated President Joseph Kabila for presiding over the very first peaceful transfer of power in the DRC since independence. Raila also noted that Congo’s success is Africa’s success.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on his end congratulated his Congo counterpart President-elect Tshisekedi in his win following the general elections.
The Head of State also vowed to work with President Tshisekedi to strengthen and deepen the long-standing cordial relations between Kenya and Congo
Kenyatta added that his victory is a portrayal of the confidence of the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in his ideals, leadership and vision for the future.
