The Government has reassured tourism stakeholders of provision security in the tourism sector and marketing of Kenya as a destination.
This was during meeting in which the stakeholders met with state officials including Tourism CS Najib Balala.
Other officials who were in attendance include Interior CS Fred Matiangi, Inspector General Joseeph Boinnet, Ambassador Monica Juma, ICT CS Joe Mucheru among others.
Najib Balala said that what happened during the Riverside drive attack is unfortunate but Kenyans are stronger than that Kenyans are resilient and they walk tall everyday.
CS Balala said that last year Kenya achieved 2 million arrival of visitors and this year they expect more. He also said that their projections by 2020 is to have 2.5 million arrivals in the country.
Balala also noted that some of the destinations are fully booked despite what might had seemed like a threat or setback.
The tourism CS condemned the attack and commended the security system that handled the situation.
He also sent his condolences to the families that lost their loved ones.
