The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Babu Owino as Embakasi East MP after dismissing an appeal filed by Jubilee candidate Francis Mureithi.
Mr. Mureithi ran to the Supreme Court after suffering a major blow at the Court of appeal which overturned a High Court judgement nullifying Babu Owino’s win.
Justices Mohammed Warsame, Daniel Musinga and Kathurima M’Inoti of the Appeals Court had argued that the nullification of the results on account of recount and scrutiny was not founded in law.
They said the irregularities noted in the results did not fundamentally affect the final outcome.
“The supreme Court of Kenya has upheld our 8/8/2017 victory. We give all accolades to the most high God and all my supporters led by my ever supportive wife Mama Fridah, my campaign Secretariat, personal supporters and all residents of Embakasi East Constituency !” said Babu after todays Court Win.
