Chief Justice David Maraga today joined family and friends at St. Andrews Church in Nairobi for the memorial service of Prof. Abel G Mugenda. Prof. Mugenda was a distinguished member of the academia and husband to the Judicial Service Commission, Prof. Olive Mugenda.
The academic guru died after a short illness. He was a proffessor of statistics and Research at USIU, a renowned scholar, Researcher,Author and Quantity Surveyor (QS).
However details emerged suggesting that the public may have been duped on the real cause of Professor Abel Mugenda, with reports that the academician committed suicide by jumping out of the sixth floor of his hotel room in Nyeri.
Prof Mugenda had been living at the hotel since 02 Jan until his alleged death on 05 Jan when he reportedly jumped to his death at about 5 AM.
On Friday 18th January, the cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 8.00 am for the burial service at Thogoto Teachers Training College from 10.00 am. Internment shall follow thereafter in Thogoto Village.
