Jose Mourinho confirms intention to continue in management: ‘I belong to top-level football’

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has this afternoon confirmed that he fully intends to return to the field of management.

Portuguese tactician Mourinho was recently relieved of his duties at Premier League giants Manchester United, following a dismal start to the season which saw many call into question whether the 55-year-old has what it takes to manage at the top-level anymore.

The earlier years of Mourinho’s career saw the one-time midfielder secure a number of high-profile trophies, including the Champions League with Porto, back-to-back Premier League titles with Chelsea, and even the treble with Inter Milan.

However, though he has since clinched another Premier League title during a second stint with Chelsea, the La Liga crown with Real Madrid and the Europa League with Manchester United, Mourinho has actually been sacked from his last 3 managerial positions.

‘Where I’m going to be’
As such, with the increasingly-defensive brand of football showcased by his sides over recent years having led to criticism from fans and pundits alike, Mourinho’s status as a top manager in the modern game has come under mounting scrutiny on the back of his departure from Old Trafford.

The Portuguese boss himself, though, has today revealed his opinion that, despite what Manchester United’s performances this season may have suggested, he remains a ‘top-level’ manager.
