Gor Mahia Heap Praises on Patron Raila and Turkish Ambassador to Kenya

After squeezing a 2-1 win over New Stars de Douala of Cameroon in CAF Confederation knock out match yesterday at Kasarani, Gor Mahia has thanked the club’s patron Raila Odinga who is also the Orange Democratic Movement Party leader and Turkish ambassador to Kenya Ahmet Cemil Miroglu and all fans for their support.

The match saw an improved attendance and in appreciating the two key figures and fans in general for turning out in good numbers to support the team, the club’s treasurer Sally Bolo said the support was great and urged all to always be attending matches in their droves.

“Our patron Raila Odinga has been a great fan of Kenyan football and never misses our matches – the much he has done as a patron of the club can never be quantified and we appreciate his support at all levels”.

“We also thank the Turkish ambassador Ahmet Cemil Miroglu for joining us yesterday at Kasarani stadium… that’s an indication that the fan base is growing by the day. Such is the support that any team would wish to have and we welcome him again to attend many of our matches together with other leaders,” the treasurer told the official Gor Mahia website.

“We truly appreciate our loyal and ever vibrant fans too for turning out in large numbers for the match. Their support was huge and we urge them to always be there for the team,” she added.

Gor Mahia will be hosting Mt. Kenya United in a league match at the same venue on Wednesday as from 4pm – a match that will be coming two days before Gor Mahia hit the run-way to Cameroon for the return leg match against New Stars.

Once again, the club will be banking on fans’ support and team’s efforts on the pitch to pull another win to increase their points tally on the log.
