KNH to replace suspended CEO Lily Koros

Kenyatta National Hospital suspended Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Lily Koros has been hitting headlines following a brain surgery mixup at the institution in 2018.

A month earlier, there were allegations of pregnant women being raped as they went to breastfeed their newborns in the nursery.

The institution is now seeking to recruit new CEO to replace Lily Koros.The KNH board appointed Thomas Mutie the acting CEO following Koros’s suspension.

The applicant should be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery or its equivalent and a Master’s in a health-related field from recognised institutions.

He or she should be a registered practitioner with the medical practitioners and dentists board, have not less than 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 10 years in senior management or a leadership position.

The applicants key responsibilities include formulating strategies and business plans and prudent management of resources for the achievement of the hospital’s mandate.

Others responsibilities include establishing, strengthening and overseeing inter-institutional collaboration and strategic partnerships.

Candidates will be required to satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution and obtain a certificate of good conduct from the DCI, clearance certificate from Helb and a tax compliance certificate from the Kenya RevenueAuthority.

The appointment is for a period of three years and is renewable for a further term of three years based on performance.
