Why Nairobi County Education minister has handed Sonko her resignation letter

Jubilee vice chair shocked the country yesterday after he boldly resigned citing inability to work with the man he will be taking to court who was non other than Deputy president William Ruto.

Well another resignation letter has also found its way to the media in un foreseen circumstances.

Nairobi County Executive Committee member for Education Janet Muthoni-Ouko resigned from the position on Monday citing personal reasons.

Addressing the media, Ms Muthoni-Ouko said she had written to Governor Mike Sonko informing him of her decision to quit.

While she did not disclose the reason for her resignation, Ms Muthoni-Ouko pointed out that she was leaving City Hall to pursue “other interests.”

“I have sought to resign to seek and pursue other opportunities and interests which will grow my career, personal life, and professional growth. For now, I cannot tell you what I will be doing. I will with time,” she said.

Ms. Muthoni-Ouko said the resignation was effective January 31, 2019, adding that she had a good working relationship with Governor Sonko.

Her brief resignation letter addressed to Governor Sonko read as follows:

I wish to thank you for the opportunity to serve in your government as an executive committee member.

Here is to tender my resignation effective 31st January, 2019.
