Its really cool when obstacles hindering you from achieving your goals are eliminated from your way isn’t it?Well thats the feeling earned students who sat KCPE are enjoying right now while celebrating the financial benefit they have secured today.
The Equity Group Foundation in partnership with Mastercard Foundation has this morning awarded 1,000 scholarships to the 2019 Wings to Fly beneficiaries.
This year, Equity Group Foundation (EGF) received nearly 20,000 applications from needy students who sat for their KCPE examinations last year.
Making her address live from Kenyatta University where 1000 students have been awarded under wings to fly 2019 scholarships courtesy of Kenya Equity Bank and Mastercard, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed applauded the efforts of the lucky students.
“I want to congratulate the scholars for working tirelessly and under difficult circumstances to secure the scholarships,” she said.

The objective of the wings to fly scholarship program is to provide financial support and leadership empowerment tools by offering comprehensive secondary scholarships to bright but needy students.
Augustin lost his father two weeks before he did his KCPE and started to lose hope in his future but his teachers encouraged him to work hard after which he scored 404 marks and is now on his way to Kapsabet Boys high school thanks to Wings to Fly scholarship #WingsToFly2019

The Wings to Fly scholarship includes: financial support in the form of tuition fees, books, accommodation, uniform, shopping, pocket money and transport to and from school to enable them achieve their dreams.
The Wings to Fly scholars are eligible for Equity Bank’s paid pre-university internship program (Equity Leadership Program -ELP) if they attain an A grade in their KCSE.
Currently we have 24 Wings to Fly scholars selected to join various global universities in the early decision selection in 2018. Some of the universities include Yale, Harvard, UPEn, MIT. – Dr. Mwangi #WingsToFly2019
