The hardest and most painful month of the year, January, commonly referred to by Kenyans as Njaanuary is here, and everyone is struggling to survive through it.
This is the month when KCPE candidates join form one, imposing more pain on parents who have to cater for the form one shopping as listed in admission letters.
Having just come after festivities, money becomes a problem to many. However, Kenyan police officers seem to be enjoying through the month. According to Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, all police officers have been paid their house allowances as had been promised by the government.
Boinnet was speaking in an address in Nairobi on Thursday.

He also praised the public for being cautious on highways which drove down crime and accident incidences to 3,156 in 2018 from over 3700 in 2017.

“As a matter of fact, from our records, we’ve seen a market drop in the number of criminal incidences and fatalities on our roads.
“We had some market drop from 3,700 recorded in the year 2017 to 3,156 last year,” stated Boinnet.
