The Cabinet Secretary in charge of education Ambassador Amina Mohammed as finally spoken out on the issue that was raising a lot of confusion on the implementation of the new curriculum.

According to Amina and the related stakeholders it is now clearly that the new curriculum will be effective as from Thursday when schools re-open.

The rolling out of the new curriculum has been hit by various hurdles. At first the Ministry of education raised the issue of lack of enough expertise and experience to roll out the new curriculum.

Through consultation the Ministry announced late last year that the new curriculum will not be rolled out.

But the need to roll out the new curriculum was reinforced by the Head of state through his new year address to the nation when he assured parents and students that it was going to be implemented when schools open on Thursday.

Can we say that the Ministry has just bowed to the pressure from the President?

Somehow we can say it is. But how prepared are the related stakeholders prepared for this roll out?
