Ole Gunnar Solsjaer score card at Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solsjaer has hit the road running since taking charge at Manchester United on an interim basis last month.

With United’s 2-0 win over Newcastle on Thursday night, the Norwegian became the first manager since Sir Matt Busby in 1946 to win his first four matches in charge of the red devils.

But just how impressive has he been?

In their last four matches, United have scored a total of 13 goals. In fact, their 5-1 drubbing of Cardiff City for Solskjaer’s first match in charge was the first time United have scored goals since Sir Alex Ferguson’s last match back in 2013.

Although United are still weak defensively, Solskjaer has had a direct impact since coming on board. The red devils have conceded just three goals in the four matches they have played.

In comparison, the team had conceded eight goals in their previous four games before Mourinho was shown the door.

The biggest beneficiary of the post-Mourinho era is obviously Paul Pogba. The Frenchman has been on a roll since and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.

Despite struggling a bit against Newcastle United, the 25-year-old was on top of his game in the other three games.
