Mike Sonko promises student bursaries as schools open

Governor Mike Sonko has today assured numbers of students from different wards that they will get their  bursaries as the schools marked the official opening in 2019.

Sonko mentioned that last year they  released bursary forms to all 85 Nairobi County MCAs, each Ward has been allocated bursaries worth Sh3.4m.

He also made an appeal to all Nairobians who qualified for bursary awards to visit their ward offices to fill the forms which must be returned back by the end of this week.

Meanwhile this year’s bursary according to Sonko will be channeled electronically to school accounts after thorough scrutiny by the county government in a move to curb bursary theft.

Busaries are one of the ways in which many students get the opportunity to go to school as some go through hardships and payment of fees is at times  a big challenge.

Sonko has been one of the governors who frequently gives updates concerning busaries and this clearly shows his efforts in prioritizing education.
