County commissioner expresses disappointment in chiefs and minor rape cases

Some sins are so big that they don’t deserve pardon yet cruelty has the ability to add more insult to injury by ensuring dubiously that these vanish in thin air.

Nyamira County Commissioner Isaiah Nakoru has blamed local chiefs and elders for the increased cases of minors being defiled by men.

According to Nakoru, chiefs and elders have been solving defilement cases in deep villages in the exchange of money instead of surrendering the suspects to police for court processing.

“It is sad that local chiefs and elders have been comprised by money to accept solving defilement cases in the villages thus making it hard for the defiled victims to get justice. I am sending a tough warning to chiefs and elders defending defilers that their days are numbered,” he said.

Nakoru urged local government representatives to ensure men defiling minors are taken to court to be sent to jail without mercy.

“Men taking advantage of minors to rape them should not be forgive at all. In 2019 we must have zero cases of defilement,” added Nakoru.

The county security boss urged parents whose daughters and sons will be defiled or sodomized respectively not to accept gifts in form of money from suspects.

He insisted that rape suspects should be arrested and subjected to prosecution as a remedy to escalating cases.
