Alexis Sanchez is either a fan of the movie Gladiator or it was just a coincidence he was playing the movie’s theme track ‘Now We Are Free’ in his car.
More believable, is the idea that Sanchez – who posted the cryptic message on his Instagram account – was playing the Hans Zimmer song on his way into training at Carrington as a sly dig at sacked manager Jose Mourinho.

In the 2000 film, the tune is played as Russell Crowe’s character is given a hero’s farewell as he dies at the Colosseum.
A bit different from Mourinho, who was bundled out of his alleged £600 per night stay at the upmarket Lowry Hotel in Manchester after being paid off as United manager following the club’s worst start to a season since the inception of the Premier League in 1992.
This is FALSE!!!. José gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him. We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to help the team !. Good luck tomorrow family! pic.twitter.com/9uhXqd5iEU

Sanchez has already denied claims he is £20,000 richer after Mourinho’s sacking amid claims he had tipped the Portuguese to be sacked in a 20k bet with team-mate Marcos Rojo.
The Sun newspaper had claimed Sanchez messaged a players’ WhatsApp group saying “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k”.
