Painful death!Electric pole ends life

Residents of Kisian village Kisumu County are in shock after a body of  21 year old man , was found dangling on a Kenya Power pole.

The man identified as John Sande was electrocuted on a high voltage power line in what residents suspect is a suicide mission.
Residents said power interruption was reported around midnight, before Sande’s body was found.Police and officials from Kenya Power had a difficult time lowering the body after limbs got attached to power rails.
George Ombuya, Sande’s uncle, said his intention was not to steal power equipment as earlier suspected.
He said the incident may have been asuicide mission or accidental as the man had a record of engaging in acrobatics.“He is not a thief and he has never had any records of such behaviour. He has not been settled lately,” he said.
Residents familiar with Sande said he worked at a quarry the previous day, where, together with colleagues loaded sand into lorries.“After the assignment, he appeared disturbed, and I remember he spent the better part of the afternoon travelling from Daraja Mbili to Kisian repeatedly,” said a villager who sought anonymity.
The residents however said the man had been violent, and had been suspected to have been involved in the murder of his father a few years ago.“One day he moved to a police station at midday and lowered the national flag, and dared the police to shoot him,” said the source.
Kenya Power Nyanza Regional Manager Dan Obiero said his team had launched investigations. He said the man had no tools nor climbers, and may have climbed the pole through an isolated rod attached to the pole.Area OCPD Meshack Kiptum said police are investigating.
