PHOTOS: Kenneth Kamto to be laid to rest today; burial preparations set

The Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto will today be laid to rest in Bejani Rabai constituency and will be buried in accordance to the Islamic law as decided by the family.

Kamto will be laid to rest  after dhuhur prayers at his farm which is located in Rabai and several leaders are expected to attend the funeral.

The Deputy President William Ruto who was in Lamu yesterday is said to have arrived in Rabai this morning ahead of the funeral. Already people have began to gather at the farm and the preparations are all set for the day.

The family settled on the burial date and schedule on Saturday 15th December  after what is believed to have been a religious divide. Sources reveal that there had been an outstretched argument over his religious affiliation.

The debate however shocked many since Kamto is said to have been religiously attending prayers at Masjid Khairat Mosque in Kilifi .

The efforts by Kilifi Muslim leaders together with Kamto’s immediate family in defending  his religious beliefs bore fruit leading on to the plans to give him a befitting send off.

“Rest in Paradise our Kamto” reads the words of on the Tshirt. Kamto was one of the leaders that was selfless as eulogized by the current Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.

Up to date, the police are still in search of the brutal  killers that shot him at his Nyali home.

The news of his death sparked a lot of reactions from leaders who demanded  that the authorities should fuel their action and focus towards bringing the killers to book.
