A good deed is something which helps either you or society. If someone is drunk and passed out, you helping that person lie on their side and getting them water or help or even home is a good deed.

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko is not a stranger to many

His philanthropic and generosity has distinguished him with the rest of the people.

On December 11 2018,  Israel named Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as the Good Deeds Goodwill ambassador.

Good Deeds Global chief executive Kaynan Rabino lauded Sonko his support towards various communities and the beautification on Mombasa Road.

“We have been watching various videos on YouTube, you are a leader who should be emulated by many. People should not take your generosity for granted because what you have done so far is very commendable,” he said.

Here are the heart-touching things done by the Senator.

Adopting Baby Osinya

Mike Mbuvi adopted baby Satrin Osinya after he was shot in the head during an al Shabaab attack in March 2014. His mother was killed during the incident.

The senator adopted the boy together with his siblings from humble backgrounds and makes them enjoy first class living.

Rescued 102-year-old woman from land grabber

In December 2015, the Nairobi Senator forcefully fought for the rights of the centenarian from a land grabber who also demolished the old woman’s house which had housed her since 1974 for the purpose of developing property. The woman had forcefully been evicted by goons who had been hired by the private developer. He donated household goods, foodstuff, wheelchair and building materials to the woman to help her start life a new.

In July 2013, Mike Sonko relived detained women who were detained in Pumwani Maternity and Mama Lucy Kibaki hospitals for being unable to settle hospital bills amounting to over Sh1 million.

Sonko Rescue Team

Sonko Rescue Team is an initiative which was formed by the senator to provide emergency services to Nairobi residents free of charge. The rescue team has also been to some counties in the country such as Nakuru to offer their services.

Mr. Rabino was speaking when he paid the Governor a courtesy call at City Hall, Nairobi.

According to him, Nairobi is a good city to invest in and do business and this is why they will partner with the Governor to host the Good Deeds Conference on April 7, 2019.

On his part, Sonko assured the Israeli delegation that his administration is working round the clock to ensure that the lives of all Nairobi residents are improved.

Others at the meeting were SBI International Holdings chief sustainable officer Denis Repushinski.
